A little Christmas Gift from boots!

Hello my lovelies! I'm really sorry that I haven't posted for a few weeks, I just had no inspiration! So today, seeing as it's Christmas Eve, I thought I would do a little post for you all...

I went into town with my mum this morning, and we decided to go into boots because my mum needed a new mascara from L'oreal! When we got there, we noticed there were quite a few offers on some of the brands - so we decided to take advantage on this! 

The offer from L'oreal was that if you spend £15 or more, you could get a free gift box worth £28! The gift box included:

Christmas Party Look

Hello everyone!! I can't believe it's nearly Christmas, I am soo excited! Yesterday my family had a Christmas Party, so I thought I would do a quick post showing you my makeup! I hope you enjoy it!

So firstly I used my Expert Face Brush by Real Techniques to apply my Match Perfection Foundation by Rimmel and my shade is True Ivory. Next I used my Lasting Perfection concealer by Collection to cover up and blemishes I had and used it for under my eyes too. I used my Expert Face Brush again to apply it, and I absolutely love this concealer because it gives such high coverage! 

Next I used my Bronzer by Rimmel to contour my cheekbones and temples and under my chin, to give a bit of colour to my very pale complexion! Now moving onto my eyes, I used my quad eyeshadow palette by Rimmel. I used to second lightest shade all over my eyelid, and then used the darkest shade on the outer corner of my eyes to create a smokey effect. Then I used the lightest shade to highlight my browbones and the inner corner of my eyes. For eyeliner I used my Scandaleyes liquid liner by Rimmel and just drew in above my eyelashes. Next for mascara I used They're Real by Benefit and also Bad Gal by benefit.

For my lips I used my Baby Lips lip balm by Maybelline just to soften them before I applied my lipstick. I always find this helps, for a more easier application, especially for darker shades! Finally for my lips I used my Moisture Renew Lipstick by Rimmel in the shade Glam Plum Fulham. I really love this lipstick because it is a lovely dark berry shade and it's perfect for winter!

My Wishlist | Christmas 2013

Hello everyone, its me again. I'm really sorry I haven't been able to post for a while, but things are starting to get a bit more hectic in my life right now! I have been looking after my friends rabbits for two weeks, and I never realised how time consuming that would be... also I have been getting quite a bit of work from college lately, so my day has consisted of catching up on last minute homework, and I have a feeling tomorrow will be the same! 

Anyway, getting on to the topic of this blog post... tomorrow is  the 1st of December, and you know what that means... it's nearly Christmas!! This month has gone so quickly, it's just flashed before our eyes, but I have a feeling this month will be different. The excitement and anticipation for the 25th of December will seem to slow the month down more, but at least that will give us a bit of extra time for last minute shopping! In today's post I thought I would share with you my Christmas Wishlist, just to get ourselves in the mood for the festive season...

So, No.1 on my Christmas list is this Nikon 55-200mm lens, and I have been eyeing this up for quite a while. I got my Nikon D3100 last Christmas, which came with a 18-55mm lens, so this lens is the next step up from my current one. It is amazing and is great if you want to take long distance photos, so it can come in really handy! As you can see Amazons offer for this lens in considerably cheaper, so if you are looking to buy this, then I would seriously consider buying it from there!

I really like this palette as all the shades are very neutral and can be worn on an everyday basis. 

#3 Black & White Vans

Next up is a pair of Black and White Vans from their Authentic range. I got a Grey pair a few years ago, and lets say I have worn them to death, so I am in need of some new ones. I love how comfortable they are, and they are really good quality too! They also come in loads of different colours, so I really would recommend these.

Get to know me: Beauty Blogger Tag

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a lovely week, and the cold weather isn't getting you down too much! If you live in England then you know what I am on about - because it is freezing!!!!! Anyway, today I thought I would do a 'Get to Know Me' Tag, as I thought this would be nice to do. I have only just started blogging, so I thought this would be a good way to share some beauty-related things about myself!

Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

Ever since I was little, my hair has always been naturally straight and to be honest I think that is a god-send! I don't think I would be able to cope with curly hair and trying to tame it down every morning. Although, I have always wanted to have wavy hair, because it just looks so beautiful and natural... but unfortunately that's not going to happen... sigh!

Do you dye your hair yourself or go to the salon?

A mixture of both. When I first started dying my hair 3 years ago, I started buying hair dye from the Clairol Nice 'n Easy range. I naturally have dark blonde hair, but I decided that this colour didn't suit me, so I dyed my hair dark brown. For the first few times, my hair went a horrible ginger colour, and when I look back at old photos I cringe! But then after a while, it started to look better and I kept dyeing my hair darker and darker until it was nearly black! I then had a random moment and dyed it dark brown with a hint of red, but that didn't last long and so went back to natural brown! However, for the last few months, I have been getting my hairdresser to dye my hair rather than buying it. It lasts so much longer and you can create the colours yourself which is great! I currently have a dark brown colour but would like to go lighter!

 Do you wear the same style everyday or do you change it?

At the moment, I am growing my hair, as  for ages I have had my hair quite short. So, I have decided I want to grow my hair longer so I can do more with it! Currently, may hair is just below my shoulders, which you cant really do much with, so I normally either have my my hair down, or if I haven't washed it, I will put it up in a ponytail. From time to time, if their is a special occasion or I fancy something different, I will put my hair up in a bun, or I will curl my hair. 

Do you do your own manicures and pedicures, or do you go to the salon?

Personally, I really like painting my own nails, as it is cheaper and I love collecting nail varnishes! Although, I would like to go to a salon and get them done, once I have enough money of course!

How often do you change your nail varnish?

I would usually change it once a week, but sometimes I will change it twice a week, depending if I have an event to go to, and if they need spicing up. 

Do you paint your toes in the winter, or just the summer?

To be honest, I can't stand bare toe nails, so of course I have to paint mine! Although, I don't change the nail varnish, quite as often as I do my finger nails! ( I'm just lazy)

Do you plan your OOTD the night before, or do you decide when you are getting dressed?

It all depends on what I am doing on that particular day, if it is a special occasion or just an average college day. When it comes to Special occasions like parties or weddings or dates, I would definately plan ahead, sometimes even weeks or months before! For special  events like weddings, I would have to go shopping months in advance, because you have to look special for an even more special day... and if I was deciding an outfit for a party, I would have to start deciding the week before by looking for inspiration online or asking my friends what they are wearing! However, if it was just for an average weekend or college day, I would think about it night before, but decide in the morning. 

How often do you change you handbag?

I know this may come as a surprise to you, but I'm not really fussed about handbags - and never have been! I only have a few handbags, and the ones I use most are my black one for college and occasionally my brown one too. Which actually reminds me, I need to buy a smaller bag for the weekends, because I usually carry around my massive one for college! 

How long do you spend doing your makeup? 

On an everyday basis for college and weekends and if I'm in a rush, then it will normally only take me about 10-15 minutes. But if I was doing my makeup for a special occasion then it can take me up to an hour just to get it right!

What do you do first? Face or eyes?

 If I am in a rush, I would do my face first and then my eyes. But if I have more time and if I'm doing a more dramatic eye, then I would do my eyes first!

Do you collect makeup, or do you just buy what you need?

A bit of both really! When it comes to things like foundation, concealer and mascara which are just the basics, then I wouldn't really buy anymore or try any others, until I am finished with that one. However, when it comes to eye-shadows, lipsticks, blushes etc, I would normally splash out! I love buying and trying lots of different lip products, because you can never have too many - right?! 

How often do you wear False Eyelashes?

I'm not particularly interested in wearing them, and I don't understand why some girls wear them all the time? I would only ever wear them if it was for a special occasion, and sometimes not even then! 

Do you wear a full face of makeup everyday?

Most of the time, yes I do, but sometimes I don't bother. If I was going to college then I would definitely wear a full face of makeup, but if I am having a spot free day, then I won't wear as much. If I have no plans that day, then I wouldn't wear any makeup at all.

Will you leave the house without makeup? 

Yes I would! If I am not going to see anyone, or if I am having a confident and spot free day then I will go without. 

How many high end products do you own? 

I am not actually sure, but not a lot! This year, I stepped into the magical world of Benefit, and I am in lobe with their products! Also, just recently, I decided to splash out on two brushes from the well-known Real Techniques brand, which you will have seen in my last post! I am hoping for an Urban Decay Naked Basics palette for Christmas too!

What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

For college days, if I have to go in early, then i have to wake up at 6.30 am but if I don't have to go to college, then I will usually wake up at around 8am - I am no one for laying in until mid-day!
For going to sleep, I will usually go to bed at about 10pm every night. 

How many pets do you have?

I have 2 lovely cats called Benny and Yoshi, which we rescued from Cats Protection 5 years ago - and they are brothers! They are honestly the cutest things ever, and they always make me laugh!

How often do you use Blogger? 

I haven't really been blogging for that long, but have come to an agreement with myself that I will try to blog at least once a week. I am still trying to think of ideas for upcoming blog posts so it may take me a while to get used to and become more confident. 

What kind of camera do you use for your blog posts?

I use my Nikon D3100, which is an amazing camera fro DSLR beginners. I got mine last Christmas as I love doing photography, and its really easy to use, plus it takes really nice photos.

Superdrug Haul!

Hello, it's me again! I hope you are all having a lovely week, whatever you may be up to! Today I thought I would show you a few things that I have bought recently, that are all beauty related! I really hope you enjoy this, even though it is only a small haul. 

So moving swiftly on, the first thing I am going to show you, is something everyone in the beauty world must of heard of... and it is of course the Real Techniques Brushes by Samantha Chapman. I have been eyeing up these bad boys for quite a while, and I was extremely excited when they were on offer, so without a moment to loose... I ordered them! I bought them from Superdrug, and the offer was Buy 1 get the 2nd half price, so how could I resist?

I decided to go for the 'Expert Face Brush' which was £8.99 and the 'Shading Brush' which was originally £6.99. I have always heard that these brushes were amazing, and they were right. These are my first two Real Techniques brushes, and I am literally in love with them! I love how soft they are, how good the quality is, and of course how well they apply make-up.  

  

                                 

The next 3 items from Superdrug were in another offer, and personally my favorite offer ever... 3 for 2 Mix & Match! This offer has been going on for a while, as part of their campaign to get people experimenting more with their make-up. The first item I picked up was the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo in 'Pink Gold'' which was only £4.99. 

I really believe these Creamy eye-shadows are amazing and have really nice pigmentation. I already had the shade 'On and One Bronze', so I was really tempted to try this one too. I find this color is really nice for an everyday look, or you can even build it up for more special occasions! 

The second item I chose was the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 'Vintage Pink'  which was £6.49. I chose this lipstick as I was trying to find a dark but everyday shade for the coming winter months, and this is perfect. It is a really nice dark pink color and is really moisturising on the lips - as the name suggests! 

The final item which I got for free in the 3 for 2 offer was the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Varnish in 'Black Cherries' which would of originally been £2.99. I don't know why, but whenever I buy something in these offers, I always choose my 3rd item as a Nail Varnish - but we can never have too many Nail Varnishes, right?! 
I really liked this color as it reminded me of Autumn/Winter and is a really nice dark red/plum shade!

A Solution for Spots!

 I hope you are all having a lovely day (or whenever you are reading this) and that you are enjoying the cold autumn weather we are having in England. I am currently snuggled up on the sofa in my comfy pj's, while drinking a nice hot cup of coffee. What is your favorite thing to do in the evening's?

Now getting to the point of this post, I have discovered a really good product that is great for getting rid of bad acne/spots! During the summer, the sun and the hot weather really helped my skin and I found that my acne-prone skin was much better, but now that the days are getting colder and darker, I found that my spots were returning...

A few months ago, I started noticing that my acne was becoming incredibly worse, and I found that I couldn't go a day without having at least one spot. My original spot cream which was by Freederm was beginning to run out, and I had been using that for the past few years, so I decided to hunt around for something else...

                                  
The night before I went shopping, I was doing some research on Youtube and other blogs, to see what they could recommend, and I came across the St. Ives brand, and I had heard they were very good. So I chose the Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub which has 'Blemish and Blackhead control'. I bought this from Superdrug  and I believe it was about £3.99. The next item, I wasn't actually intending on buying, but I decided to give it a go. Being only £1.99, I was very tempted to try it - so I did! This was the Witch Naturally Clear Blemish Stick, and I had heard of this brand before, so I was excited to try it.

    

At first, I was a bit worried trying the St. Ives product, as it is a scrub and they sometimes tend to be harsh on the face. I was pleasantly surprised with the consistency and it was quite soft on the face too. The Witch product, I found was very easy to apply and it gave a little burning sensation when first applied but this soon went!

However, after a few weeks, I didn't notice much difference to my skin and I was getting desperate! I felt like I had to put more makeup on my face, otherwise I wouldn't feel comfortable going out and this is really bad for your skin. I know that not all products are suited to everyone's skin type, and it can be really hard to find the perfect one for you, so I am hoping that this product I am about to show you will really help!

After searching for a while on Youtube, I came across a video that said 'Sudocrem for spots', and I was really intrigued by this so I watched it. I don't know about you, but I thought Sudocrem was for babies, but it's not,as on the packaging where it says what it can be used for, it actually says 'Acne'. Since it is an Antiseptic Healing cream, I can see why! So the very same day I went and bought a 60g tub from Tesco and it only cost £2.37... YES £2.37!! I know you may think that 60g isn't a lot, but a little goes a long way, as I find you don't need to put a lot on.

I have only been using Sudocrem for a week, and I can already notice the difference it makes! I am not joking, but I put the product on my spots for just a few hours, and the redness had already gone! And so, to sum up, I really think that this is a great product than can be used by any one with spots, and I really hope this helped you!
